My mental approach to dealing with nerves revolves around trying to relax my mind. I visually run through my whole ski set, as this helps suppress my excitement, and I typically do a light routine stretch. All of my rituals prior to skiing are in an effort to distract myself from over thinking. The simplification of thoughts and relaxation seem to be the most positive approach to my tournament sets.
